"As gamers know, the GPU is the most important component for any gaming system," said Ujesh Desai, general manager of desktop GeForce products at NVIDIA. "We're excited that we are going to be able to open up the Crysis universe to more gamers while also giving gamers who played the original game an even better experience this time around." "When we started developing Crysis Warhead, we gave the team at Crytek Hungary the challenge of optimizing CryENGINE 2 to improve performance from Warhead without sacrificing any of the visual fidelity we pushed for in Crysis," said Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek.

I think both games look best on an HDTV from my personal experience.September 11 th, 2008 - When Crytek started the development of Crysis Warhead, their mission was not only to give gamers more of the action-packed, open-ended gameplay gamers latched onto in Crysis, but also to enhance CryENGINE 2 to the point where Crysis Warhead would show a marked improvement in performance from the original game. Lol sounds confusing but this is the way to make each of the first 3 Crysis games look the best on a monitor and an HDTV.

You really just gotta switch back and forth between those two different resolutions a couple times and eventually you'll get it.Īnd again, HDMI with proper color will only work for Crysis 2. If it doesn't stay at 60hz don't panic eventually it'll stick. Go to the graphics menu and switch back to 1920X1080p and it should revert back to the proper color and remain at 60hz. Your resolution will be at 1920X1079 and the color will still be off. It'll switch to 60hz but the color is going to look like crap again.Įxit the game and restart it. Fire up the game and change your settings to 1920X1079 in the graphics menu. which only works for Crysis 2 you have to create the custom resolution in the NVIDIA control panel. That will get it to 60hz but for some reason the color/graphics changes for the worse and it gets significantly darker looking.įor Crysis 2 you can do the same thing play it with a DVI cable or a VGA cable but you can also get Crysis 2 running properly with an HDMI and HDMI cable looks best for this game. You can also set a custom resolution in the NVIDIA control panel 1920X1079. You can also run it in windowed mode as the guy suggested above but that is annoying in it's own right and imo it doesn't look as good as running it with a dvi or a vga cable. If you try to run it with an HDMI cable it locks it at 24Hz and if you turn off Vsync you get your frames but the game still looks like absolute crap for some reason. If you are playing on an HDTV that has a PC in connection but it is VGA then you need to buy a VGA to DVI adapter for your video card and then run a VGA cable from the adapter to your HDTV. I had this problem and it took me a while to figure it.Ĭrysis 1 and Warhead need to be played with a DVI cable on a computer monitor.

I can't create a custom res in Nvidia panel because I'm using Nvidia DSR ( in many other games) which prevents me from creating custom resolutions.Īlt entering 5-10 times to get 60 hz every time I start the game is tiresome and the game is barely playable at 24hz. Is there a fix beside creating a custom resolution or alt-entering many times ? Googled the problem and it appears to be a bug for nvidia users with a 1920x1080 screen.
